And I bet you that big city Chinese restaurant will still serve chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce... which is fake as hell.

I can find the same “big city” thing pictured in Madison Heights, MI.

Vietnamese Noodles? I only know pho and that vermicelli salad type thing that’s common at Vietnamese restaurants.
For better or for worse, I think pho and pizza have one thing in common: it’s gotta be pretty damn bad for me to be disappointed in my meal.

Most Chinese food in the US is depressing or disgusting, no matter where you are. Aside from some parts of Vancouver BC and some sections of the SGV of Los Angeles, there are very few places you can get real Chinese food in North America. Well, except Dim Sum...sometimes...on the west coast.

It’s a joke, although mostly accurate.
I would be very surprised if it was good that far inland, but I’ll believe that it exists.

But oh so delicious!

Yeah if you’re talking about East Bumf*ck, Iowa, that’s one thing. You’d be lucky if they even knew what an Asian person is.

I’ve had that lots of times. It’s great!
I’ve also heard Vietnamese food is pretty good.

Good to know.
I’d suspect that Edmonton (and/or Calgary), of all places, has a good probability of it as well, based on the number of Chinese immigrants I know that have family there.

I don’t know about Edmonton, but Fort McMurray certainly sucks for that, I only know a friend living there.

While possibly true generally, MSLP area actually has some good authentic places (Tea House, David Fongs, Village Wok (R.I.P. Recently closed) are three that come to mind).
Why? I think it is b/c there is (relative) very large Mong population (supposedly the 2nd largest Mong population in the country (behind S. CA).
